SEO (short for Search Engine Optimization) is a set of activities that improve your website’s organic (unpaid) visibility in search engines.
It involves optimizing for users (answering their questions with high-quality content), using the right keywords (relevant and with sufficient search demand), and meeting technical requirements.
The goal of SEO is to increase organic traffic (from search engines and AI tools) and ultimately grow your revenue.

When will Google and other search engines recommend you?
Search engines will recommend your website when it provides the best answer to a user’s query. “Best” means not only high-quality content (depth and relevance), but also strong technical performance (loading speed, responsiveness), and clear structure (readability, contrast, headings, layout).
Key factors for better visibility
1. Content
High-quality content is the most important factor. Without it, your website won’t be discoverable.
Create content primarily for users, not for search engines. It should be easy to read, provide real value, support the customer journey, and guide users toward action (internal links, buttons).
Keywords:
Naturally include relevant keywords with sufficient search demand and reasonable competition in your text, titles, headings, meta tags, and URLs.
Content length:
Longer, in-depth content has a better chance of ranking higher.
Updates:
Regularly updating older content helps improve visibility.
Multimedia:
Enhance your content with images, videos, and graphics, all with proper descriptions.
2. Page structure
For SEO and traceability in AI , the way your page is structured is crucial.
Headings:
Use headings correctly – one H1 (main heading) per page, followed by H2, H3, etc., to create a clear content hierarchy.
Structured content:
Use short paragraphs, bullet points, numbered lists, and tables to make your content easy to read.
Internal links:
Connect your content across pages within your website.
URL:
Short, clear, and including a keyword.
3. Meta tags
Meta data has less weight than content. For AI search, it has no impact. However, it’s still worth working with, as it can help in traditional SEO and a well-written meta description can increase your click-through rate (CTR) from the search results page (SERP).
Meta title (Title tag):
Short, clear, and includes the main keyword. Ideally 50–60 characters.
Meta description:
A summary of the page content. Ideally 150–160 characters.
Alt tag:
Describe images using relevant keywords.
4. User experience (UX)
Responsive design:
Optimize your website for mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
Page loading speed:
Your website should load quickly (ideally within 2 seconds). You can test your site speed here.
Simple navigation:
Clear menu and easy movement across your website.
Readability:
Use readable fonts, strong contrast, and a well-structured layout..
5. Technical SEO
Structured data:
Use schema.org to help search engines better understand your content.
SSL certificate:
HTTPS ensures secure data transfer.
Canonical tags:
Prevent duplicate content issues.
XML sitemap:
Helps search engines index your pages more efficiently.
Robots.txt:
Controls access for search engine crawlers.
6. Keywords
Naturally use relevant keywords – both short-tail (broad, e.g. “car”) and long-tail (specific, e.g. “used car dealership Prague”).
Primary keyword:
Include it in the title, URL, meta description, H1, and the first paragraph.
Secondary keywords:
Expand your content with related terms and variations.
7. Images and multimedia
Image size optimization:
Faster loading thanks to smaller file sizes.
Alt text:
Describe images using relevant keywords.
Image formats:
Use modern formats like WebP.

How to rank #1 on Google?
Google follows the SEO principles mentioned above. If you want your website to reach the first page of Google, start by analyzing where you currently stand. If you’re already ranking on the second page for certain keywords, optimize those first.
If your website isn’t ranking yet, find keywords that are relevant, have sufficient search volume, and are less competitive, then create SEO-optimized content around them.
A Google Business Profile can also help improve your visibility in search results.
At the same time, ask yourself: Which keyword do you actually want to rank for? You’re likely already ranking for your name or company ID. The real goal is to rank on the first page for people who don’t know you yet so they can discover you through SEO.
How to get recommended in AI (e.g. ChatGPT)?
Create high-quality and up-to-date content. Everything is explained in detail in the article AI SEO vs conventional SEO or How to get into chat GPT search. Here’s one of the most important things: for AI to recommend you, it needs to know you exist.
Is SEO dead?
No, SEO is constantly evolving. The rise of AI is changing the approach, but SEO remains essential for organic visibility.
It also depends a lot on your target audience. When Google entered the market, it seemed like Seznam.cz would disappear. That didn’t happen, it still has its loyal users.
How long will SEO work?
This question is closely related to the one above. As long as search engines exist, SEO will remain important. And they will exist as long as there are audiences who use them. However, it’s essential to adapt your website and business to new technologies such as AI.
How will SEO change with the rise of AI?
- Focus on quality: AI will prioritize content with the highest value.
- Context and intent: SEO will focus more on understanding user intent.
- Voice search: The importance of natural language and phrases will grow.
Is SEO, PPC, social media, or email marketing better?
It depends on your goals:
- SEO: Long-term visibility and traffic.
- PPC: Fast results, but more expensive.
- Social media: Great for building a community.
- Email marketing: Highly effective for maintaining customer relationships with strong conversion rates.
Is it worth investing in SEO?
Yes, if you’re aiming for long-term organic growth and actively working with content marketing.
When should you do SEO?
- When you want to create valuable content.
- When redesigning or launching your website.
- When you want to stabilize your business and build long-term organic traffic.
How much time and money does it take to write a good SEO article?
- On average, about 6 hours (including research, SEO optimization, AI-assisted writing, meta descriptions, publishing, and integrating it into the customer journey).
- The average cost for a fully done SEO article is around CZK 4,500 – considering it brings traffic and generates sales.
If you’d like me (and my team) to create this type of article for you, feel free to reach out.
How much does an initial SEO audit cost?
It depends on what’s included in the audit. I offer smaller SEO audits starting from CZK 3,000–5,000. As part of the audit, I analyze your website, identify weak points, uncover the biggest growth opportunities, and suggest a clear action plan, including keyword recommendations.
If you’re interested in an SEO audit, feel free to reach out.
What are the most important SEO factors?
- Content quality.
- Page loading speed.
- Responsiveness (mobile optimization).
- Structured data.
- Backlinks.
Why can’t you just “turn on” SEO?
SEO isn’t a one-time tool. It’s a continuous process. It requires planning, analysis, and long-term effort.
What tools to use for measuring SEO
