A landing page is the page a visitor lands on after clicking a link in an ad or a promotional post. In other words, it’s the first page they see when they arrive on your website.
A landing page usually includes a specific offer – for example, the option to download something for free or purchase a product.
If you’re directing people to your landing page, make sure to give it enough attention. It needs to capture interest. That’s why both the design and the copy matter. Professionals from search engine can help you with both – you can find graphic designer and copywriter).
Take a look at examples of landing pages and get inspired:

- Start your business online- a landing page for a program that teaches you how to start a business and sell online.

Note: A landing page is sometimes confused with a sales page. The terms are very similar, but in my view, a sales page is a type of landing page.
If your landing page offers a paid product, you can call it both a sales page and a landing page.
If it doesn’t sell directly, it’s simply a landing page.
How to create an effective landing page
Technical side:
A landing page is usually part of your website. If you don’t have one, you can use online tools that work even without your own site:
- MailerLite – an email marketing platform that allows you to create landing pages for lead generation.
- SimpleShop – an easy-to-use sales platform where you can create landing pages and sell products. It also handles invoices, order processing, and product delivery. You only pay when you make a sale. Try it here.
Content:
A landing page can be very simple. The most important part is a strong opening statement (headline/claim), followed by well-structured arguments that guide the visitor toward action.
